Making a difference to children’s health and wellbeing
A healthy school promotes the health and wellbeing of its pupils and staff through a well planned, taught curriculum in an environment that promotes learning and healthy lifestyle choices. Research shows that education and health are closely linked , with healthier children more likely to achieve better outcomes academically, socially, emotionally and physically. The Newcastle Healthy School Programme is a quality assured structured programme which supports schools to become more health promoting. It uses a whole school approach to support and influence children and young people’s health behaviour, assisting them to reach their full potential.
