Investing in Children

Investing in Children is a Community of Interest Company which has partnerships with public service agencies and universities across the UK and Europe supporting children and young people to enter into dialogue with adults who have the power to act on their agenda using a child’s rights-based approach. Newcastle City Council was the first local authority to partner with Investing in Children Development Company in 2004.

The service you have received over the years has been provided free of charge by Newcastle City Council. Organisations and services in other local authority areas and private organisations pay for the Investing in Children Membership Award™ evaluation service.  It is with regret that we have to inform you that we will no longer be able to provide this free service from 1st October 2018.

Impact on your organisation or service:

- If your membership award is still in date you will continue to be part of the award scheme
until the certificate expires.
- If you are currently engaged in the renewal process, this will be completed by the end of
July 2018 and you will remain a current member of the Investing in Children Membership
Award ™ until the certificate expires.
- Newcastle City Council will no longer contact organisations to renew their Investing in
Children Membership Award ™ with immediate effect.

How can I continue with Investing in Children Membership Award ™?

To continue your membership there will be a cost which you will need to discuss with Investing in Children direct; you can contact them on membership@investinginchildren.net

Please note that Louise Cameron will be happy to discuss your membership and answer any queries up until 30th September 2018 should you require any help with the transition; you can contact Louise at louise.cameron@newcastle.gov.uk or telephone 0191 278 7878.
