Governor briefing on the term’s agenda

Outline

We recommend that each school sends a representative to one of these termly briefings.
The sessions will update and inform governors about the term's agenda and Local Authority reports. This year, Ian Dawson, Head of School Effectiveness, will be joining us at the sessions to provide updates from the People Directorate. There is no charge for these sessions.
PLEASE NOTE THE DIFFERENT TIMINGS IN THE AUTUMN TERM AND THE DIFFERENT VENUES FOR THE EVENING SESSIONS

Booking Information

How to apply for Governor Services’ sessions
Where schools have bought into the Platinum packages or the Governor Training Gold package, there are no extra charges for training. Other schools will be charged at £46 per hour per governor for training sessions attended. Please check with your school or with Governor Services if you are unsure which package your school has purchased.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO BOOK A PLACE ON ANY SESSION YOU WISH TO ATTEND RATHER THAN JUST TURN UP. ALL GOVERNORS WHO HAVE BOOKED ONTO A SESSION WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM THE DETAILS APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK BEFORE THE SESSION.

To book, contact Governor Services by telephone on 0191 211 5312 or by email jane.edminson@newcastle.gov.uk). Alternatively, you can ask your school to book a place for you using SLA online. Applicants who wish to cancel a booking must give as much notice as possible. If we have to cancel a session, notification will be given by email or telephone.
